Resources
New York City can be a tough place to navigate. The W30BA is committed to helping our members and neighbors find the resources they need.
Below are a sample of departments and services that can help.
Can’t find one that fits what you need?
311 is a great way to access non-emergency services in NYC. If you are unsure how to resolve an issue, they can provide guidance on who to contact within the City. You can also call them or use their mobile app to report noise, trash, and other complaints.
CB5 handles land use and zoning, liquor license permits, the City budget, and the delivery of City services within our district. They hold monthly full-board meetings where residents can submit public comments.
In case of emergencies contact the NYPD. West 30th Street falls under the jurisdiction of the Midtown South precinct. The Traffic Operations Division located on W 30th Street is not responsible for emergency situations and will not respond to them.
Erik Bottcher is our city council representative. His office can advocate for issues on the City level and introduce legislation to create City-wide changes.
The West 30th Street Block Association keeps a list of upcoming events in the area that could impact residents and businesses.
Together with their not-for-profit partners, their mission is to prevent homelessness when possible, address street homelessness, provide safe temporary shelter, and connect New Yorkers experiencing homelessness to suitable housing.
Neighborhood Coalition for Shelter (NCS) helps New Yorkers who are struggling with homelessness, often compounded by mental illness or substance use, to achieve their highest level of independence.
Breaking Ground is a nonprofit service organization contracted by City for outreach in our area. Each year, they serve more than 10,000 vulnerable New Yorkers through Street Outreach, Transitional Housing, and Permanent Supportive and Affordable Housing.
For homeless individuals who have lived on the streets for multiple years and resist entering the shelter system or long-term treatment programs, the Olivieri Drop-In Center offers on-site, 24-hour services, including meals, clothing, and showers. When a client is ready to talk with staff, they offer case management, crisis intervention, referrals to medical, mental health and rehabilitation services, and housing placement assistance.
